Overview
For millenia, the four primordials held societal progress at bay with apocalyptic earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, and volcanic eruptions. But Shaitan, Behemoth, and Leviathan have been bound. Only Typhon, the primordial of air, remains free.
With only one existential threat to deal with, civilizations have flourished. Shipping networks connect the economies of all major continents: the northeastern Gabroria, Verdania in the far east, Ata in the west, the Pyrmies in the southwest, and the Iceplains of the north.
Gods play a more subtle role in shaping history than the primordials. Most populations adhere to a religion with one or more gods. Religions come and go with their practitioners. A divine entity can only affect the world through its followers.
Time
All times are given in the Sonnern Calendar, abbreviated SK. The calendar begins at 0 SK with the foundation of Sonnenland. The year at the time of this writing is 200 SK. Many other calendars exist, of course.
